Tuesday Jan - March
Learn to paint deliciously beautiful, light filled
Paint a menagerie of winter watercolor landscapes, animals, and subjects, such as; snowy mountains, icebergs, frost covered branches, and the icy nose of an arctic fox. Strengthen your understanding of watercolor through exploring various loose and realistic techniques, effects, color mixing, and the art of translating photographs to watercolor. You’ll learn through live demonstrations, discussions, and feedback, while painting in a relaxed art studio environment. Register at Gage Academy of Art
Thursdays 5-weeks, Jan - February
Have you wondered how to mix a vibrant purple or how to paint a white object without white paint? Color mixing, color stories, color theory, and single color themed projects will lead the way on this five week watercolor journey. Each class we will dive into a different single color inspiration with color recipes and techniques ranging from loose to realism. Including painting white objects, Payne’s Gray, and a few color projects as voted on by the class. You'll learn from live demonstrations, feedback, and discussions in a relaxed art studio environment. Register at Gage Academy of Art
Thursdays 5-weeks, February - March
Demystify the watercolor portrait painting process by painting individual studies of eyes, nose, ears, and mouth. We will paint small realistic and loose renderings of facial features, while learning to color match, glaze, build depth, and imbue your watercolors with light. You'll watch artist Willow Heath’s live demonstrations, receive feedback, and engage in artful discussion while strengthening your watercolor knowledge and technique.
